Jewish History Study Group

The Jewish History Study Group will be held on Zoom every two months, at least initially.

The study group members will hold round table talks on three basic types / categories of meetings:

  • – Topic discussions
  • – Book club / discussion of books, articles or chapters
  • – Research techniques / historiography

Group members will decide the category and topic of the next meeting and will rotate in hosting and running the meetings. The host of the next meeting will choose two or three possible dates to hold the meeting and then send a survey via email to all IHS members to determine the date to schedule it.

Members interested in participating in the JHSG, please contact the IHS President.

Jewish History Group Upcoming Meeting

The next Jewish History Study Group meeting will take place on Zoom on Sunday, May 11th at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time.  The Zoom invitation follows.

Topics to be discussed include ambivalence towards one's Jewishness, the external limitations imposed on Jews in various professions, and the climate of fear that enveloped many Jews in the Soviet Union.

Thank you to Louis Trager for facilitating the JHSG and to Esther Mordant and Peter Crane for leading the discussion on these topics.
